She has held hospital appointments as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, where she gained experience in complex orthognathic surgery, wisdom tooth surgery and assisting in major cancer and trauma surgeries.
In 2023 she is one of the very few dentists to complete a 3-years postgraduate orthodontic training in Western Sussex Hospital Trust and awarded a Master’s in Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics from the prestigious UCL Eastman Dental Institute in London. She was awarded her membership with the Royal College of Surgeons in England (M.Orth) in 2023.
She is a Specialist in Orthodontics and attends national and international congresses regularly, keeping up to date with the latest evidence in Orthodontics and Cosmetic Dentistry. She has published scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, presented research in international conferences such as Australia and Europe, and has been awarded several prizes. She is also an active member of the British Orthodontic Society.
Dr Bal has a unique and modern eye for detail, combining the management of facial proportions and teeth, and relating the structures of the face to the smile aesthetics. Her specialist areas include: Fixed adult and children orthodontics, early interceptive orthodontics for children, Invisalign comprehensive, Invisalign first for children, braces on the inside of the teeth (lingual), orthognathic treatment, multidisciplinary treatment, and porcelain veneers. She combines this with facial aesthetic procedures such as muscular relaxing injections and dermal fillers to give natural enhanced smile and facial balancing.
Dr Bal has a passion and modern approach for early management of paediatric malocclusion and provides “interceptive” treatment, which are dental procedures recommended for children ages between 7 to 10 years old. Dr Bal believes that early orthodontic treatment is important if the child’s bite is not right and is in the child’s best interest if planned and implemented at the right dental developmental stage. Use of aligners allows treatment of children without brackets and wires is comfortable, affordable and allows children and teenagers to gain confidence in their smile.
In her spare time she enjoys travelling, volunteering and reading.
